I was born and bred in Nairobi´s Lenana area, a slum in the outskirts of the city.

I am currently a psychologist with a degree in psychology. I am also completing a master´s in Project Management to enhance my project management skills.

 

Poverty is a common experience for many children and families in the slum.

And my journey like many others has been very difficult through education due to challenges in my childhood, lack of school fees and mentors in our beloved Lenana area.

 

This depicts the current situation of the area that I am very motivated to join others in changing. Living in a poor or low-income household has been linked to poor health, and increased risk for mental health problems in both children, and adults that can persist across the life span. 

 

I do not wish to see any other child going through the difficulties that befell me especially after losing my father at a young age. I am passionate about empowering people to maximize their potentials in eradicating poverty mentality and improving mental health access for the children in the slum, low-income children, and families in the primary care setting.
